Come listen to us every Wednesday night from 6 to 9 PM at Old Europe German Restaurant, located at 2434 Wisconsin Avenue, Washington DC. You may want to call ahead to make sure you have a reservation in case it's full (202-333-7600). And on every third Wednesday of the month, Old Europe hosts a fun German style "Stammtisch" with favorite German songs--Make sure you don't miss out!

Liab’ und Schneid is the Mid-Atlantic’s premier duo for authentic German Alpine Music (echte Volksmusik), the traditional entertainment and dance music of the mountains of Austria, Switzerland, Bavaria and South Tyrol. Our mission is to bring you the most authentic Alpine music you'll hear on this side of the Atlantic, with the most diverse range of instruments (as well as vocals), in the most fun way possible.

The key to our success: bringing you the energy of the music Alpine “locals” listen and dance to, spiced up with some Oberkrainer classics and timeless hits in the German Volksmusik tradition. And to complete the experience, we dress the part by wearing 100% authentic European "Tracht" that we research and buy in Austria and Switzerland for the purpose.

Most of our music is traditional and Copyright Free--we are more than glad to offer, upon request, BMI/ASCAP/SESAC safe playlists cross-checked with partnering European PROs.

We are trained European-born musicians performing on several traditional German Alpine instruments. Our standard duo is Steirisches accordion (Alpine buttonbox) and Classical guitar, but we also perform on other instrument combinations such as Schwyzerörgeli and bass, guitar duet, Alpine xylophone and accordion, Zither duet, Raffele and guitar and several more--just like you would hear in an Alpine "Berghütte." We play traditional, high-energy dances like the Polka, Schottisch, Boarischer, Landler, Waltz, and more, and sing traditional Alpine songs and Yodels--plus a number of Oktoberfest favorites.

This has made us a popular duo with cultural events, German restaurants, private parties, Oktoberfests and other venues in DC, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, the Carolinas and more. No place is too far if we are available. Also, we will work with you to accommodate your budget needs.
